About Pauline

Yoga has been my faithful companion since 1997 and I have been living, breathing and exploring yoga in its many forms ever since.   I have studied various yoga disciplines including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusara, and Vinyasa Flow.  Without categorizing my teaching into a singular school or style, I borrow from each what works best for me to both teach and practice.  I have been inspired by many wonderful instructors including Darcia Fenton, Desiree Rumbaugh, Karen Sprute-Francovich, Christina Sell and Sjanie McInnis. I have been teaching yoga since 2002 and I completed my Level III Teacher Training in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga in 2003 and my Anusara Yoga Teacher Training in August 2011.  Including these teacher trainings, I have enjoyed 1,030 hours of yoga training.  My teaching style has been described as flexible, playful, inquisitive and sensitive to the needs of my students.  An attitude of enjoyment while maintaining respect for the path of yoga are central themes in my classes and in my personal practice. I am a great believer in the transformative power of yoga to create optimal physical, spiritual and emotional health.  Everyone  has the ability to start and flourish in yoga, regardless of age, level of flexibility or physical condition - yoga is the cultivation of what is possible!

I have a faith in the practice itself.  I mean the thing that keeps me practicing it that I feel I am benefiting from the practice. To me, it isn't really about belief as it is about a knowing in my heart that this path is a valuable one to walk. I feel that I am benefiting on a lot of levels and so I keep going. It is kind of a simple thing.  ~ Christina Sell
